Virtual poster museum. Valencia has consolidated its prestige in graphic design, especially standing out in the art of the poster, with an internationally recognized creative scene. A virtual museum of Valencian posters will soon be launched, promoted by Russafart and Boke Bazán, focusing on the last two decades of production. Supported by the Ministry of Education and Culture, it will serve as a documentary archive and promotion platform for local designers, with a focus on cataloging for students and researchers.in Valencia
Valencia has established itself as a benchmark in the field of graphic design, particularly notable for its rich tradition in poster art. The city is home to a wide variety of designers who have taken the art of poster art to very high levels, fusing contemporary techniques with historical influences. This creative scene has been internationally recognised, with events and exhibitions celebrating the quality and diversity of Valencian design. In addition, Valencia’s cultural dynamism drives a continuous production of innovative graphic works of great artistic value.
Now, with the help of Russafart and Boke Bazán, the city will have a virtual poster museum that will collect examples of existing production in this regard. The virtual museum of Valencian posters will be operational, foreseeably, before the end of the year. This first phase will focus on the production of the last two decades, a project supported by the Ministry of Education and Culture with a recently approved grant of 25,000 euros. The museum not only seeks to be a documentary archive, but also a platform for the promotion of Valencian authors.
According to Boke Bazán, the aim is to create an extensive and precise catalogue that can serve as a reference for both students and researchers. This museum will also be of great interest to schools such as the MArch Valencia postgraduate school, where, in its Graphic and Product Design module, students also experiment and work on creating compositions that can lead to posters.
