After a long projection and execution process, at the end of June, specifically on the 28th, one of the museums called to become an icon of Madrid will open its doors: The Royal Collections Gallery building, the work of Tuñón + Mansilla.
The project began to be executed in 2006 and was finished in 2016 and since then it has been awarded with more than ten architecture prizes. Among its more than 40,000 square meters, around 650 works will be exhibited.
It is located in the Royal Palace complex, from the Plaza de la Almudena towards the Campo del Moro and its main objective has been to form part of the landscape, mixing the natural with the artificial, and to maintain the public character of the place allowing that the views towards the pre-existing parks and gardens continue to be accessible.
