The Architecture of Ginza, Tokyo

The great city of Tokyo has the particularity of keeping very good architecture in many of the neighborhoods that make it up. Summarizing everything they keep in a few paragraphs is complicated, but focusing on one of them can be more interesting. And Ginza is extremely attractive.
Among its streets we can find works by Rafael Viñoly, such as the Tokyo International Forum (located at 3-5-1 Marunouchi). The same, if you come to Ginza from Otemachi or the northern part of the city, welcomes you to this district. Immediately afterwards, we find one of the streets perpendicular to the two great avenues that divide Ginza from north to south, where the Mikimoto Ginza by Toyo Ito, the Beers Ginza Building by Jun Mitsui and the Chanel Ginza by Peter Marino are located, which stands at a crossroads and facing it stands Kengo Kuma’s Tiffany Ginza.
On the great avenue of Ginza that runs from east to west we find the Sony Building by Yoshinobu Ashihara, the Maison Hermès by Renzo Piano, the Armani Ginza Tower by Doriana & Massimiliano Fuksas and the Dior Ginza by Kumiko Inui.
And already scattered around the different streets we can find projects such as the Tokyo Ginza Shisheido Building by Ricardo Bofill, the Louis Vuitton Ginza Namikidori by Jun Aoki, the Shizuoka Press and Broadcasting Center by Kenzo Tange or the Nicolas G. Hayek Center by Shigeru Ban. In short, a district that forces you to look at all the buildings that populate it.
