This showcase offers a unique exploration of the impact of musical portability on everyday life, focusing on the evolution of portable audio devices. The exhibition features an extensive and valuable selection of audio devices from the Alfaro Hofmann Collection, one of the most comprehensive of its kind. Among the displayed objects are products designed by some of the greatest names in industrial design and creativity, such as Dieter Rams, renowned for his innovative work in creating simple, functional products that have left a lasting mark on design history. These devices were not only technological pioneers but also completely transformed society’s listening habits, becoming key pieces of popular culture. From the earliest portable radios to iconic cassette players and the first Walkmans, each item reflects an important chapter in the daily evolution of how we engage with music.
