Open call for the Loewe Foundation Craft Prize

The LOEWE Foundation has launched the eighth edition of the LOEWE FOUNDATION Craft Prize, a prestigious international award that recognizes excellence in craftsmanship. The aim of the award is to celebrate those professionals whose talent, artistic vision and capacity for innovation set new standards for the future of craftsmanship. The winner will receive a prize of 50,000 euros, and the finalist and winning works will be exhibited in an exhibition to be held in Madrid in the spring of 2025, accompanied by a catalog.

Nominations will be open from July 9 until October 30, 2024. Professionals over the age of 18, of any nationality, may participate by submitting original works that demonstrate technical mastery and an innovative artistic vision. The pieces must be handmade, unique and created within the last five years, without having been previously awarded. Works are accepted in various disciplines of applied arts, such as ceramics, jewelry, furniture, textiles, glass, among others.

Registration is done online in English, and participants must include between 2 and 5 photographs of the work, as well as a brief conceptual description of the project they present.

The Loewe Foundation, created in 1988 by the Spanish fashion house Loewe, has as its mission to promote creativity and support projects in the areas of art, culture, literature and education. Over the years, it has promoted cultural initiatives of great relevance, such as the LOEWE FOUNDATION Craft Prize, which celebrates excellence in craftsmanship, and the International Poetry Prize. The foundation is distinguished by its commitment to preserving cultural heritage and fostering innovation in various artistic disciplines, connecting tradition with modernity.
