Renowned graphic designer and MArch lecturer Ibán Ramón has been chosen by the Associació de Dissenyadors de la Comunitat Valenciana (ADCV) to design and develop its new visual identity.
This decision is of great significance, as his proposal will not only define the visual aesthetics of the organization, but also mark a milestone in the evolution of its identity. The new design will reflect the renewal the association has embarked upon with its recent name change, approved by the General Assembly: Associació de Professionals del Disseny de la Comunitat Valenciana.
This change responds to the need to take a step forward in how the organization presents itself both within and beyond the Valencian Community, establishing itself as an even stronger reference in the field of design. Through this transformation, the ADCV aims to highlight the achievements reached during its four decades of existence—a period in which it has worked tirelessly to represent and support the professionals, studios, and design companies that are part of its community. This effort has been fundamental in promoting design as a discipline, contributing to the economic, social, and cultural development of the region.
Furthermore, the name change reflects an acknowledgment of the increasingly relevant role that design plays as a strategic ally not only for businesses, but also for institutions and society as a whole. Far from being an isolated discipline, design has become a key tool for innovation, growth, and competitiveness across various sectors. With this move, the ADCV seeks to highlight the importance of designers as active agents in the transformation and improvement of both productive and social environments.
One of the fundamental premises that has shaped the redesign process—and one that was specifically required by the ADCV—is the continuity of the existing acronym, “ADCV”, which remains as a symbol of unity and continuity between the past, present, and future of the association. This decision emphasizes respect for the organization’s tradition and history, while also establishing a link between its legacy and the new chapter that begins with the name change and the update of its visual identity. The acronym thus becomes a key element in the graphic narrative that must reflect this historical continuity.
The selection of Ibán Ramón to carry out such a high-impact project was not made lightly. The selection process took place through an exclusive call directed at ADCV members, allowing the base of professionals within the organization to have a voice. The final decision was made by a jury composed of prominent figures in the world of design and creativity. Among them were Nacho Lavernia, prestigious designer and 2012 National Design Award winner, recognized for his work in graphic design and visual communication; Isa Viso and Josep Olmos, members of the renowned studio Granissat Estudi Creatiu, who contributed their creative and strategic vision; and Carmina Ibáñez, an experienced designer and creative director with a long-standing career in design and art direction.
This project is just one example of ADCV’s dynamism and its commitment to innovation and progress in design, both in the Valencian Community and on an international level. The new identity will serve as a reference for future generations of designers and a symbol of the strength of the association as a cohesive, diverse, and creative professional community.
