New edition of the TAC Festival!
DATE
20.03.2024
Since 2022, the Ministry of Housing and Urban Agenda, in collaboration with the Arquia Foundation, a partner of the MArch graduate school, promotes the TAC! Urban Architecture Festival, with the purpose of bringing architecture closer to society and highlighting the value of urban public space through innovation and experimentation through the construction of a temporary pavilion in different cities in Spain.
This traveling event, adapted to each host city, is a living testimony of the capabilities of architecture to enrich our cities.
In the first edition, held in Granada, the festival transformed the Plaza del Humilladero with the Aire pavilion by P+S Estudio de Arquitectura.
In 2023, Valencia and San Sebastián were the venues, exploring architectural responses to the climate crisis. In this new edition, Vigo and San Fernando will be the headquarters of the TAC! 2024, with a renewed focus on urban transformations, focused on proximity and small scale.
The construction of a temporary pavilion in each city is proposed, selected through an open call. The authors of the winning proposal will receive a prize of €15,000 (VAT included), divided into €12,000 plus €3,000 for accommodation, subsistence and travel expenses, for each winning team, regardless of the team’s city or residence. In addition, they will have an estimated base budget of up to a maximum of €90,000 (VAT included) for the execution of the pavilion, which can be expanded with sponsorship contributions. The competition includes the design of the pavilion and, for the winning team, the direction of its execution.
The deadline for the call is next April 2. For more information:
