This week, the MArch International event took place at Espai Alfaro, a special day where students have the opportunity to share details about their places of origin with their peers through a classroom presentation.

This activity allows students to offer a unique perspective on their countries, emphasizing the architecture of their cities and regions by presenting examples that may be unfamiliar to many. Beyond architecture, students also explore other key cultural aspects such as gastronomy, music, traditions, and local customs, fostering a deeper cultural immersion. This exchange not only broadens students’ knowledge of other parts of the world but also promotes mutual understanding and respect for diversity.

It is precisely the geographic and cultural diversity of the students participating in the different MArch programs that makes this day such a special and meaningful event. Coming from a wide range of countries, students have the opportunity to showcase the most distinctive aspects of their homelands, illustrating how architecture and other cultural elements shape their daily lives and worldview. Throughout the day, attendees can gain deeper insights into the cultural richness of countries such as Argentina, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Mexico, Brazil, Switzerland, Italy, Albania, the Dominican Republic, and India, among many others, offering a fascinating panorama of the global diversity that defines the MArch community.

Currently, the MArch postgraduate school takes pride in hosting a student community representing over 53 different nationalities, bringing immense cultural wealth to the academic environment and daily interactions among students. Each student, with their unique background and experiences, plays a crucial role in fostering a global and multidisciplinary learning atmosphere, enriched by the diverse perspectives of their peers. This diversity not only strengthens academic exchange but also nurtures a spirit of collaboration and creativity, encouraging the development of new ideas and solutions in architecture and design. Ultimately, this day becomes a celebration of diversity, creativity, and international collaboration, key elements that define the MArch programs’ spirit.
