Introduction to photography sessions

Photographer and filmmaker Jesús Orrico will begin the Introduction to Photography classes corresponding to the M01_Communicate module of the MArch postgraduate programs in applied architecture, MArch master’s degree in Architecture, design and innovation and MArch Advanced master’s degree in architecture, design and business administration, where students will be able to immerse themselves in the field of photography with a focus on architecture and design. With extensive experience working for architectural studios and photographing projects of various scales, Jesús Orrico has perfected his ability to capture architectural spaces, their details and design objects, allowing him to offer students a unique and specialized vision in this visually demanding sector.

During the sessions, participants will not only learn the fundamentals of camera handling, but will also deepen their understanding of how technique influences the quality and message of an image. Orrico will guide students through the basic principles of composition, light and framing, exploring how each of these components can be manipulated to achieve visually striking results in the realm of architectural and product photography.

In addition to technical knowledge, the classes will also provide an opportunity to explore the importance of detail and creativity in every photo shoot. Through a practical session, students will be able to experience how to capture the essence of a design or space (different themes will be available, ranging from architectural photography to product photography, including sculpture, taking advantage of the Espai Alfaro), learning to highlight its most attractive features and to tell a visual story with each image. This approach will make these sessions a comprehensive experience, ideal for those looking to specialize in this field.
