Renowned graphic designer and March speaker Ibán Ramón has been commissioned to create the posters for the Etno Music festival in this 2024 edition, an event organised by the Valencian Museum of Ethnology that celebrates the diversity and musical richness of different cultures.

For this edition, Ramón has opted for a striking visual proposal, centred on the use of a three-dimensional ear as the main element of the design. This ear, made in 3D, not only symbolises attentive listening and the central role of music in the festival, but also suggests an openness towards new sounds and cultural experiences.

The use of the 3D ear is an innovative approach in the graphic design of posters, combining realistic elements with a digital and modern touch. As the designer conveyed to the MArch students during his visit to the school, the texture and precise details of the ear allow the viewer to perceive both the realism and the abstraction of the image, managing to capture the attention of those who see it from the first moment. This visual resource reinforces the idea that Etno Music is a space to listen in depth, not only to music, but to stories and traditions from all over the world.

His work methodology led him to collaborate with a modelling specialist who worked on a fully three-dimensional design, capable of being moved depending on the needs of the designer when composing the poster.

Furthermore, Ibán Ramón’s design combines this central figure with sober fonts and colours that evoke a warm and enveloping atmosphere, reflecting the plurality of musical genres and cultures present at the festival. The integration of the 3D ear within a minimalist design creates a balance between the traditional and the contemporary, in line with the spirit of the event, which brings the ancient and the modern into dialogue through music.
