Fondazione Prada is an Italian cultural institution dedicated to the promotion and dissemination of contemporary art. Founded in 1993 by the fashion house Prada, the foundation has established itself as one of the most important references in the international cultural landscape.

Through its program of exhibitions, events, and activities, Fondazione Prada offers a space for the exploration of creativity and dialogue between various forms of artistic expression, from visual arts to architecture and cinema.

One of its most notable characteristics is its commitment to interdisciplinarity, allowing it to approach different artistic manifestations through innovative perspectives. Its Milan venue, which opened in 2015 and has since been visited by several graduating classes from MArch Valencia during their annual trips to the Lombard capital for the Salone del Mobile, occupies a renovated industrial complex where architecture and art blend harmoniously. This venue, designed by architect Rem Koolhaas and his firm OMA, is an impressive example of how industrial structures can be integrated with contemporary elements. The space hosts galleries for both permanent and temporary exhibitions, a theater, a cinema, and other areas dedicated to reflection and cultural exchange. The layout of the buildings allows for fluid interaction between the artworks and the public, making each visit a unique and dynamic experience.

Fondazione Prada also has a location in Venice, housed in the historic Ca’ Corner della Regina, an 18th-century palazzo restored to accommodate the foundation’s programming. In this Venetian palace, the foundation organizes contemporary art exhibitions and cultural events in a setting that engages in dialogue with the city’s historical tradition. The transformation of this historic space to meet the needs of contemporary art reflects Fondazione Prada’s approach—one that seeks to balance heritage preservation with artistic innovation.

Although very different in architecture and context, both venues share the same mission: to offer a platform for contemporary art in its many forms. Through these two locations, Fondazione Prada has become a key reference not only for art enthusiasts but also for those looking to explore the intersection of art, fashion, and culture in a meaningful and profound way.
