Closing Ceremony and lecture of Aires Mateus

At the end of September, the closing ceremony of the 2021 2022 academic year took place, which took place in the Espai Alfaro courtyard, on a stage surrounded by the sculptures of Andreu Alfaro, one of the NIU Houses prototypes, and with the company of students and family. As godfather of the promotion we had the publicist and cultural manager Vicent Molins, who addressed a few words to the new graduates encouraging them to build the future.
Two days before the exhibition of the final projects by the students took place, so that, during the closing ceremony, the delivery of diplomas was also carried out, delivered by the coordinator of the MArch Maria Masià programs, thus marking the end of this stage. A year of high-level projects and brilliant results.
As an end-of-course presentation we had the presence of the renowned Portuguese architect Manuel Aires Mateus, who shared with us some of the most recent projects developed by his studio in recent years.
He showed us the execution of several residential projects developed in the south of Portugal, in some cases new construction and in others facing the rehabilitation of, for example, industrial warehouses to convert their use. In the same way, he also told us how the construction of a building as iconic as the MUDAC in Lausanne was carried out, and answered numerous questions asked by the students.
