Atelier Aires Mateus Workshop in Lisbon included in MArch Advanced in Architecture, Design and Business Administration

From September 10 to 17 took place in Lisbon the workshop led by the renowned Portuguese architect, and MArch speaker, Manuel Aires Mateus. This workshop takes place in a professional environment of reference in the sector but with a strong didactic presence.

This workshop is included in the MArch Advanced Master’s program in Architecture, Design and Business Administration, in which it was proposed to carry out a reflection on architecture using a diverse set of research tools.

During these days, the students have developed the execution of a project under the theme “Inhabiting” with the coordination of members of the Atelier Aires Mateus team and the direction of Manuel Aires Mateus himself. A way of getting to know the place and reflecting it through the execution of models and research into graphic representation. The program is complemented by other activities such as visits to works in progress and completed projects. Similarly, this experience is completed with the opportunity to live for a week in the Portuguese capital, a city rich in history and architecture that always has much to contribute.

Workshops, such as the one conducted by MArch students, are a fundamental part of the training offered by the school. These workshops allow students to work on real projects under the guidance and supervision of leading industry professionals, providing them with a unique opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge in a practical and dynamic environment. In addition, these exercises foster the development of critical, creative and collaborative skills, and allow students to confront the current challenges of architecture and design, guided by internationally renowned experts.
