Architecture and Design: Master’s or Postgraduate? A Guide to Understanding the Advantages of Each Program

Within the range of master’s programs in architecture in Spain, both the postgraduate courses and the master’s programs offered by the MArch Valencia Graduate School provide training paths in architecture and design adapted to today’s world, albeit with some key differences that can be tailored to the specific needs and objectives of each student. The Postgraduate in Applied Architecture primarily concentrates on architecture, construction, and its communication, while the Postgraduate in Digital Design and Innovation addresses various branches of design, including interior, product, and graphic design.

On the other hand, the MArch master’s programs are more comprehensive and extensive, combining the content of the postgraduate courses to offer a more holistic education. The MArch Master’s in Architecture, Design, and Innovation integrates the approaches of both the Postgraduate in Applied Architecture and the Postgraduate in Digital Design and Innovation, providing broader training that is oriented toward innovation as well as the connection between the academic and professional realms. This structure allows students to explore a variety of areas within architecture and design, promoting the development of cross-disciplinary and multidisciplinary skills.

Finally, the MArch Advanced Master’s in Architecture, Design, and Business Administration further expands the training by including an MBA module that is integrated throughout the course, equipping students with business management tools applied to the creative and design fields.
